Mr. Shane Oxendine manages the Church Office. Shane is the oldest child of Rev. Dr. Milford Oxendine, Jr and Jeannie Hunt Oxendine of Pembroke, NC. He has a twin sister and two younger brothers. Shane is a US Navy Veteran and served as a Religious Programs Specialist in the Navy’s Fleet Marine Force, providing administrative support and physical security to Navy Chaplains for 8 years. He travelled extensively while serving including duty assignments at: Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Norfolk Naval Base, VA; Camp Lejeune, NC; Camp Pendleton, CA; and Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan.

After an Honorable Discharge from the service, Shane studied Accounting and Business Management at Wake Technical Community College and at The Poole College of Management at NC State University. Outside of his job duties at Prospect Community Church, Shane enjoys spending time with his immediate and extended family, studying guitar, and occasionally spends time with his younger children playing video games. He has a vested interest in electronics pertaining to computers, information technology, and electronics used for music performance and production.

He is married to Joanne Dominguez Oxendine of Benson NC. who happens to also be the Facilities Manager at the church. The couple have 8 children – 6 sons and 2 daughters – and 4 grandchildren and they reside in the town of Pembroke.

David Dewayne Dial

Mr. David Dial wears two hats at Prospect Community Church, as he is the Music Director and the Youth Director. David received his B.A. in Music, with a Jazz Minor, from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He also attended East Carolina University pursuing his M.A. in Jazz Performance.

David was also blessed to be a part of the Jazz A Band while attending ECU. The band had acclaimed performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland; the International Association of Jazz Educators Convention in Anaheim, CA; and the JVC Jazz Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY.

David has several loves in his life: God, his Salvation, his wife and family, his music ministry and musical instruments, and his Church Family. He also has a love of taking a piece of music, whether performed as a solo or group, and developing it with the influence of the Holy Spirit into something that moves, inspires, and blesses the hearts and minds of the participant and the listener.

Rev. Ray Brooks

Rev. E. Ray Brooks is a retired Elder from the NC Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He served as an Elder Pastor in the former New Bern, Rockingham, and Sanford districts of the Annual Conference for a combined 19 years. While serving in the New Bern district, Rev. Brooks completed 4 CEUs of Chaplaincy training at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, now Vidant Regional Medical Center, and also served three years as an evening chaplain at the hospital.

Upon retirement and the death of his first wife, Sue Ellen Brooks in 2018, Rev. Brooks began attending to and providing pastoral ministry to the shut-ins and the sick of the church, the Prospect Community, and the surrounding areas. He has also made many trips to hospitals around the state to minister to hospitalized individuals from the community. Rev. Brooks has assisted the Senior Pastor with worship services, acolyte training, confirmation classes, and bible studies and he is also active with the Sandhills Emmaus Walk ministry.

Rev. Brooks is available for teaching, praying, and ministry to anyone needing spiritual guidance. He is married to Mrs. Jeannette Moore Freeman, and they reside in the Prospect Community of Robeson County, NC.
